This article was a very interesting read because it talked about how many people are relying on the internet and gaming as a source
of income especiall in low income economies. In the Phillippines, gaming and NFT's has been extremely helpful to low income familes
who have access to gaming and either earn high ranking which can turn into money or with the use of NFTS. RK Secretario is a Philippino
gamer in his early 20's who like everyone else was affected by the pandemic and was the sole caretaker of his grandmother. He became introduced
to the game by a friend and was able to rack up tokens to be exchanged for money and now he uses that money to live a better life and give back
to his community who has been affected by the pandemic.
I think that NFTS and the use of social media has been extremely influential in the digital age that we live in and those who take
advantage of the era we live in can make money in a very creative and smart way. Artists who create NFT's with their own laptops, photoshop, illustrator
or even a pen and paper and sell them online. Creating games or apps have led to many millionaries in the era that we live in and it something that will keep
occuring as more technology emerges and more apps, games and marketing progresses.
The digital medium obviously has it's pros and cons where many low income players are now being paid based off a criteria and based off a followers and location.
Also depending on how many followers certain players or digital creators have it depends on the brand sponsorships and how much each creator or player is worth.
In this digital medium, being a top gamer or creator is extremely competitive and it's something everyone can chime in and try to do to make extra money.
