For my vector eye, I wanted to capture the idea of a somewhat natural eye so I tried to use my ipad to free hand draw my eye the best I could, to make it more artistic. Then after creating the eye and its lashes I used the shape tool to create small circles and play around with the colors and textures of what the iris of an eye can look like. While I was playing around with the colors I saw a blue print that looked like a vast ocean or like bandana print. Then I wanted to create the illusion that the eye was glistening and shining like a real eye would when exposed to sunlight so I played around with different tools and used the flare to give the eye a whimsical and hopeful effect.
The emotion I want to evoke is hopeful or happiness and I think the flare gives it that effect and make the eye look more awake and opened up thanks to the lashes.
